Loenen has the highest waterfall in The Netherlands.
The waterfall has a drop of 15 meters. This was dug in the Great Depression and the water comes out in Apeldoorn-Dierenskanaal. The bowls which supplies the water rises in the forests of Schalter and consists of two parts, the Vrijenberg Spreng and Veldhuizer Spreng. These are each approximately six kilometers long. There are also several other Sprenegn, thus gradually a broad stream is formed. By blocking bars is somewhat maintained in several places.
Waterfall stairs are constructed. Along the way there have been several years ago cut down all the trees and planted new trees.
The waterfall is accessible via the main road (N786) from Loenen to Beekbergen. Near the waterfall is a car park, it is by means signs indicated.
The largest waterfall is behind the large parking lot. A 10-minute walk upstream, you can still find some treading water.
