When we visited the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Okanagan it was on a Saturday and they were closed. Expecting to find their office on Springfield in south Kelowna we made our third trip to north Kelowna just so we could find their office.

In the Okanagan

Big Brother Big Sister programs started over 40 years ago in direct response to the community needs. The benefits over the years continue to grow with the additional stress to families and demands on youth. We have identified that as of 2011 there are approximately 28,000 children who would benefit from mentoring in the Okanagan and the number continues to grow.

In 2015 Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Okanagan mentored over 3,000 children and youth throughout the valley.
