A brass plaque on a marble block records the first post office in the locality of Kangaloon.

The plaque was erected by the Wingecarribee Shire Council. Kangaloon is a locality of small farms with several homes beside the road at this location. There is no longer a post office here.

The plaque is worded:

"Kangaloon Post Office.
The first Post Office in the district
of Kangaloon was opened
in a store on this site on 1st January 1864
by William Robert Russell.
The Post Office was closed on 22nd February 1981.
Erected by
The Wingecarribee Shire Council."
