A multi-war memorial dedicated to the citizens of Ware, Massachusetts who died in combat.
The front of the monument bears the image of an eagle perched atop the traditional American olive branch and arrows with the following inscription:
To keep forever
living the freedom
for which they fought
we dedicate
this memorial
to our citizens
who served in the wars
of their country
Erected by the town of Ware
1954 (hard to read in photograph so it may be 1951)
The back side of the monument lists the residents of Ware killed in the service of their country during WW1, WW2, and the Vietnam War. Although the Korean War is listed as well, no names appear beneath that heading.
