The building and tower are built from brick with four courses of brick arranged into circles in which the clock face is set. The face, that is about two metres in diameter, is white and appears to be made of two parts as a seam runs across the face from the "IX" to "III". The hour and minute marks are pressed from a single sheet of metal with the marks being held together by three concentric rings. They are coloured black. The hands, due to their colour, appear to be made from copper and are a simple design.
