All the land between County Route 20 and Canandaigua Lake west of what is now Kershaw Park was Roseland Amusement Park. The sixth grade class of every primary school in the area throughout the 1970s would celebrate the end of the school year with field trips to this amusement park. It had a wooden roller coaster, built on-site in 1960, was sold at auction and relocated to Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania in 1987. The carousel (for which a street was named) was sold and refurbished to become the centerpiece for the Carousel Mall in Syracuse. A Sky Ride (lift chairs like a ski-lift) took you up high over the waters of Canandaigua Lake. The paddle boat pond is now Lagoon Park. See (
visit link) for mor details.
North of County Route 20 is a water park bearing a sign using the same lettering style on the sign as the former amusement park used (see photo). The land's history as an amusement park is commemorated in Rosepark, the recently built housing comple, with street names such as:Carousel Lane and Roseland Lane.
