"With the foresight and leadership of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club original sponsor of Children Fairyland and the inspiration of Emelyn K Jewett, the Necklace of Lights around Lake Merritt has been restored and is dedicated to the people of Oakland and surrounding communities, with special thanks to the many individuals, businesses, organizations, the City of Oakland, county and state agencies to make the Necklace of Lights a reality and serves as a reminder to future generations that an Oakland landmark was saved and once again reflects the beauty of man's partnership with nature."
