Grolla Restaurant is owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team. The wife is gluten intolerant, so most menu items are entirely gluten free, and all items can be ordered gluten free.
The restaurant is TINY, with maybe a dozen tables. It's beautiful inside, though, with mismatched furniture, dark burgundy walls, and two walls that are windowed and covered with ivory sheers. Angela, the owner, did quite a bit of the serving, and was happy to talk about the food.
We decided on having the tasting menu, so our waiter came out to interview us about allergies and preferences. After the interview, the plates started arriving. Unlike many tasting menus (in Portland), Grolla served different plates for both of us, according to our preferences and allergies. It was outstanding.
