The Lexington Lions Club in conjunction with U.S.S. Lexington CV-16 Association has placed a monument consisting of a bronze plaque mounted on a granite base honors all those who served on a United States naval ship named Lexington. The monument is the rightmost of a series of monuments honoring the individual ships. The plaque carries the emblem of both organizations and the following inscription:
