Center of Population, Massachusetts, 2000 - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This very large disk marks the balancing point for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts if it were weighed by the 2000 census results. It is located in Natick, Massachusetts and was dedicated on June 2, 2004.

The mark is located at Natick High School's Memorial Field Athletic Complex, so it may not always be accessible - the football area is very close to the mark, and so may be cordoned off during games. However, the mark is located northwest of the football field itself, off on a soccer field to the west.

Entering from the parking lot to the north of the football field, you can reach the mark by scooting through a gateway in the fence - not the one leading to the football field, but the one to the west, near what seems to be some containers, a wooden fence, and storage areas. You will see a soccer goal and a rope-training thing. The mark is embedded in the ground generally south of the western end of the wooden fence.
