This utiltity box depicts an old schoolhouse building, with the sides of the building wrapped around the box, as if the box were the building. On one side is a story written on a blackboard in a schoolroom:
in 1903, our city invested in the construction and further education in Pasadena’s growing population. On the land diagonally reflected here, on Walnut at Los Robles, a structure housing approximately 30 rooms and an athletic field was erected. It was ready to receive students as it opened in the fall of 1904. This was seen as “ample for years to come”. However by 1912 a new campus was needed and constructed at the then rural location of Colorado and Hill.

This was no artist information found on the box.
