In Plymouth, on the Plymouth State University campus, is this statue of Robert Frost, one of the best known American poets.

The statue is located on the common area of the main campus, near the clock tower at Rounds Hall, and up the hill from the end of Court Street.

The statue is located on a bench along the edge of the sidewalk. The figure is facing the commons, holding a board, with paper on it. One hand is holding the board and one is holding a pen. The paper has words written on it - the poem, "The Road Not Taken."

Robert Frost was an American poet who was well known. His most famous poem was "The Road Not Taken." Other poetry works include: "In the Clearing," "Hard Not to Be King," "West Running Brook," and "New Hampshire." He was born in San Francisco, CA, on March 26, 1874. When his father died when Robert was eleven, his mother moved him and his sister to Massachusetts. He attended college at Dartmouth and later Harvard but never earned a degree. After marrying and trying to farm in New Hampshire, they moved to England for a while, meeting poets there and Ezra Pound, who helped promote his works. By the time he returned to America, he had several published works, and his reputation continued to build. He would eventually earn four Pulitzer Prizes. He died in 1963.

At Plymouth State University, Frost taught classes from 1911 to 1912. The statue was bought with funds raised in mid 2000s. The link referenced has the details of acquiring the statue and some of the things that the statue was associated with.
