This Grade II* listed church is of late C12th build, altered in the C14th and a north aisle added in c1895. It has the standard west tower to the central aisle, and partial aisles to the chancel built of squared coursed limestone with gritstone dressings. The roofs are slate with decorative ridge tiles.

This War Memorial has been placed on the west wall of the chancel immediately adjacent to the tower arch on its south side. It is an inscribed, polished, grey marble slab placed immediately below the parish's WWI memorial.

The inscription reads:-

                          IN MEMORY OF
                 ARTHUR HENSON RUSSELL
WHO GAVE HIS LIFE IN THE WORLD WAR
                        1939 - 1945.
