This is the spot where the scene was filmed where Captain Kirk fell to his death, in Valley of Fire State Park.

Multiple areas of the park were used. This area, was where Captain Kirk "died" in the last scenes of the movie. This site was chosen as it's one of the highest spots in Valley of Fire. All other ground level shots were shot at or very near to WM4BMY. See the video below, since it was filmed entirely here. Other parts of the movie were filmed elsewhere.
