According to the Ottawa city directory material, the Society of Friends has been meeting here since 1969.
It is interesting to see a steeple-house building directly connected to a Quaker meeting house. That building was previously home to the Church of the Nazarene congregation (1945-1968). Before 1945, Ottawa city directory material shows the Zion United Church at that address. Before merging with the United Church of Canada, the Welcome Zion Congregational Church dates back to the 1890s. It is difficult to date the steeple-house building. The cross and crown symbol above the front entrances is not usually associated with Congregational, United, Nazarene or Quaker buildings. The front entrances to that building are presently identified as 91B and 91C Fourth Avenue.
