Das um 1500 erbaute Zollhaus geht auf die Herrschaft des Damenstifts über das Breisiger Ländchen zurück. Zwischen dem „Koblenzer Tor“ an der Stadtmauer und den Zollstationen am „Kölner Tor“ erbaut, diente es zur Erhebung des Wegezolls.
Old customs House built in 1500 from the Essen convent, who zuled the "Breisiger Ländchen". As a sovereign right, the emperor granted the ruler to collect road toll. Therefor she has built the customs house in addition to the already existing two customs posts "Cologne Gate" and "Coblenz Gate".
Today it is used as a restaurant.
