The Eisenhower Homestead was settled by David Jacob Eisenhower and Ida Stover Eisenhower. They raised 6 sons, one of them went on to a 5 Star General serving in WW II and later become the president of the United States. There are historical markers placed on the homestead by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The homestead is now the host to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library. The home has been preserved and can be visited.
