Gaicki Park is a retention basin park named after a fallen hero firefighter. The park is designed to handle overflow water when storms come through. It is also a soccer field and includes a picnic Ramada dedicated to Ed Gaicki. Ed Gaicki is the only Tempe firefighter who has died in the line of duty since the inception of Tempe's professional firefighting force.
