On the occasion of the sculpture symposium, which took place from mid-April to mid-May, 2008 at Rhein-Nahe-Eck, of working in Traben-Trarbach artist Jürgen Waxweiler created the four monumental heads who now get on the Rhine promenade a site that give them enough space fails to take effect.
The viewer must walk in distance to accommodate the work of art in its entirety can. In all four "heads" we still recognize the square, from which they were identified. Especially the flat, not style similar to the human head lines forehead structures connect the faces with the memory of the material of the sandstone. Careful examination of the seemingly archaic heads, are made entirely on the frontal perspective out notices that Waxweiler varies the theme of eyes. When left head you miss the two eyes right and left of the nose, but there is an orbital on the forehead. The next head gives a human face, as we are used to it, while the head rightmost surprised us with eye sockets where we expect the eyes, but keep an eye on the end of everything.
2009 the sculpture was moved from the Rhine promenade to the new location Traben-Trarbach.
