Rotorua is surrounded by geothermal areas and lies on the edge of Lake Rotorua, an area steeped in Maori legends. Mount Ngongotaha is a volcanic dome 757 metres above sea level that overlooks the city of Rotorua. The Skyline Luge is a tourist attraction set up on the mountain, the complex is situated just minutes from central Rotorua. This is where the Lugeing adventure all began in 1985. Rotorua Luge has three tracks of differing skill levels winding through beautiful forest.

Take off downhill on your luge through twists and turns to a backdrop of dramatic scenery and down through the Redwood forest.
Once at the bottom, ride the scenic chairlift back to the top of the track. During Summer, from 26 December to 6 February (Waitangi Day), you can enjoy the stunning views on the Night Luge from 6.30 - 10pm nightly, with a Night Luge Pass.
