"You are advised that it appears from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim, W.2229, that Asaph Morse enlisted in June, 1777, in Worcester County, Massachusetts, served as a private in Captain Adam Martin's Company, Colonel Timothy Bigelow's 15th Massachusetts Regiment and was discharged June 14, 1780, by Phineas Bowman, Captain Commandant, 15th Massachusetts Regiment.
He was allowed pension on his application executed March 30, 1818, at which time he was aged fifty-seven years "and upwards" and resided Oneida County, New York.
In 1820, he was residing in Westmoreland, Oneida County, New York, and then stated that his wife was aged fifty years but did not give her name, or the date of their marriage and there are no further particulars in regard to her, and that he then had four children residing with him: Martha, Clary, Fanny and Lucy, aged twenty-four, eighteen, sixteen and thirteen years respectively. In 1837, he was residing at Nanticoke, Broome County, New York.
He died May 6, 1853, at Locke, Cayuga County, New York."
