At one time the only church in Columbia Falls, then later the Columbia Falls Town Hall until 1987, it was the town hall in 1976. As such it became the logical choice for the location of a plague which both celebrated America's bicentennial and remembered "
Early Settlers of The Pleasant River Known To Have Been In Action Against The British During The Revolution Of 1775-1783". The plaque is mounted on a low white granite plinth in front of the church/town hall to the northeast of the sidewalk leading to the front entrance and lists the names of those referred to above, 48 in total.
