The Deerfield River divides the village of Shelburne Falls so that half the village is in Buckland, MA and the other half is in Shelburne, MA. Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2758 is in Buckland on the west side of the river.
The FOE Aerie was opened in the late 1940's by returning World War II veterans. The two story building was once a livery stable where horses used to come up by railroad and they were sold to farmers. The stable was converted to a garage before acquired by the present owners. In 1990, the second floor of the building was demolished, and the first floor was expanded to become a banquet room, which is used for parties and rented out to provide income for running the club. The downstairs is the social hall for Eagles Club members.
In 2011 the aerie was badly damaged by Hurricane Irene. It was extensively renovated and reopened in 2013. It is now a thriving aerie which supports an auxiliary. They now have a tap beer draft system, and a new walk-in cooler, and a bigger bar space. Due to the new windows the interior is much a brighter space now.
