Plaza Italia, station of line D of Buenos Aires Underground (Subte de Buenos Aires), is located in Palermo district, just couple meters from Buenos Aires Zoological Garden (Buenos Aires Zoo).

Plaza Italia station, precisely located at the intersection of Avenida Santa Fe and the roundabout surrounding Plaza Italia, was opened for public use on 29 December 1938. A short distance from the station are located the La Sociedad Rural Argentina (Argentine Rural Society), Buenos Aires Zoo and the Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires. The station was declared a national historic monument in 1997.
