"Our IMAX was the first ever in Europe and is still one of Bradford’s major attractions. Seeing an IMAX film with us just got better thanks to our fully refurbished theatre with its state-of-the-art digital projection and improved seating, including a premium seating area. Our IMAX screen is the biggest screen in the region, giving you the most immersive film experience.
Screen facts
The first IMAX film screened at the Museum was To Fly! and was shown exclusively for 15 months.
The IMAX screen is perforated with thousands of tiny holes as the speakers are positioned behind it and is so big it had to be lowered in through the roof.
Each frame of IMAX film is 70mm long by 15 perforations wide, the largest in cinema history and has a picture area ten times that of a conventional 35mm film frame."
