It's amazing what has been fitted into this little gem of a museum. Hangar One is designed to look like the original 1928 building that played host to famous aviators like Wiley Post and Will Rogers, Charles Lindbergh, and Amelia Earhart. The Museum shows how Tulsa continues to be a leader in exploring the sky, with aircraft and spacecraft design and production, and the training of pilots and mechanics. Some of the exhibits are interactive. You can launch a space shuttle, create a tornado, or try flying an F-16 in a wind tunnel simulator.
The nearby Planetarium and ESky(TM) Theater has a few exhibits in its lobby, including rock specimens brought back from the Moon by four of the six lunar expeditions.
Hours: Sundays 1-5 p.m.
closed Mondays and most holidays
Tuesdays-Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: $6 adults for either Hangar One or Planetarium, or $10 for combo ticket
$5/$8 combo for seniors (62+), students, or military
