EN: The Zurgilgenhaus is one of the landmarks of the city of Lucerne. It stands next to the Chapel Bridge directly at the outflow of the river Reuss from Lake Lucerne. The house is one of the oldest stone houses in town, built in 1510 (1367 according to other sources). The striking tower was originally part of the town fortification. The building includes elements from the Gothic and Renaissance. For more than 300 yearsit has been in private ownership of the patrician family Zurgilgen.
DE: Das Zurgilgenhaus ist eines der Wahrzeichen der Stadt Luzern. Es befindet neben der Kapellbrücke sich unmittelbar am Ausfluss der Reuss aus dem Vierwaldstättersee. Das Haus ist eines der ältesten Steinhäuser der Stadt und wurde 1510 (1367 nach anderen Quellen) erbaut. Der markante Turm war ursprünglich Teil der Stadtbefestigung. Das Gebäude beinhaltet Elemente aus der Gotik und Renaissance. Es ist seit über 300 Jahren in Privatbesitz der Patrizierfamilie Zurgilgen.
