The marker has the following text:

The Bible says that the church was established on the day of Pentecost; fifty days after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in A.D. 33. Those that were baptized were added to the church by God. The church has existed through the ages.

The Church of Christ in Wills Point began meeting in homes in 1882 with the families of W.A. Rushings, Hawthorn Watkins, Dan Lawhorn, Charlie Wolvertons, J.B. Blakely, Jim Presswood, W.O. Rowdens, Ruff Brooks and Brown Brundge as charter members.

The congregation rented a building from the Presbyterian Church. In 1912 the congregation built its first building and a second structure in 1950, The current building was constructed in 1993.

The congregation is a vital member of the Wills Point community. It's local and foreign missions are important contributions of the congregation.
