This is the third courthouse for Burnet County. The Art Deco Courthouse was built by the WPA in 1937.

Constructed of Burnet pink granite from Marble Falls. It has two stories with basement. Addition constructed in 1974. An etched panel on the main façade depicts scenes of the county’s heritage representing ranching; agriculture; justice; westward expansion; peace between Native Americans and Texas pioneers, and a hydroelectric dam.
