Description of Memorial:
Huge wall of building bordering, and facing, the city park (plaza) is a huge soaring eagle who's wings spread out over the soldiers of all our history of warfare. Each war is identified by the icon, either in statue or print, that has represented the specific war through time. From the left: Civil War, a team loading a Napoleon cannon; Word War I, four gas mask wearing soldiers in period uniform inside a battle trench; World War II, the image of the flag raising on Mt Suribachi, also known as The Marine Corps Memorial; Korean War, three rain coat and winter gear covered soldiers standing tall; Vietnam War, three loosely and undisciplined, dress casual looking, unhelmeted, soldiers of the later days of the war; Iraqi Freedom, The kevlar Helmeted soldiers and two air craft of the era; and finally chaplains ands soldiers arms about each other in prayer.
