Ashland, Wisconsin has become The Mural City of Wisconsin due to the efforts of two artists. Their earliest mural dates back to 1998, and they have painted many since. A brochure on The Ashland Mural Walk can be obtained at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, or the Ashland Museum. In the brochure, this mural is described as follows:
Historic Ellis Avenue Mural:
101 West Main Street - 2012
Painted on the former Lake Superior District Power Company building. This mural features Northland College's Wood's (sic) Hall, The Knight Hotel and the old Ashland High School.
(Note: Although the brochure says Wood's Hall [which would probably really be Woods Hall], the mural itself says Wheeler Hall.)
