This bronze sculpture consists of three deer (two does and a stag), prancing through a garden in front of the Oklahoma Dept. of Wildlife Conservation. Their poses are action-based with each deer standing on either both back legs or both front legs, in the process of running.
A bronze plaque nearby indicates that the sculpture, named "Oklahoma Whitetail Deer" was donated to the state agency by NatureWorks, a non-profit organization whose annual art show and sale provides funds which are used for wildlife conservation. It was sculpted by Stephen LeBlanc and placed here in 2011.
This is a delightful sculpture, and we noted the humor of some contractor who let a real deer walk through the wet cement when setting the walkways in front of the building (see gallery).
