In Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood, is Fairview Cemetery.
The cemetery is located off the junction of River Street and Turtle Pond Parkway. The entrance has a sign on the left. The mark is at the administration building, which is at a junction of the major roads to the cemetery and the base of a hill.
Some of the oldest graves are around the administration building. The years at this level were in the late 1800s to early 1900s. The cemetery continues to accept graves to this day. In fact, former Mayor Thomas Menino is buried here. Another well known person is American Impressionist painter J. J. Enneking. There are hundreds of graves here.
Near the top of the hill is a Civil War memorial. At this location is a great view of Blue Hill.
The cemetery was established in 1893. It was acquired by the City of Boston in 1912.
