Leon is known as "the voice" of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. Rausch received his first big break with an appearance on the Louisiana Hayride in 1955. In 1958, he joined Bob Wills' band. Leon later formed his own group the New Texas Playboys, in Fort Worth, Texas.
