This moving piece is dedicated to the citizens of Fort Collins who both perished and survived the flood of 1997. The plaque reads as follows:
"To commemorate the Fort Collins Flood of July 28, 1997, in which five people lost their lives and hundreds of homes and businesses were damaged. This monument honors the victims of this tragedy, the many rescuers who risked their lives, and the community members who selflessly worked side by side to help those in need."

This bronze sculpture honors the victims of the devastating flood that struck Fort Collins in 1997. The piece recognizes the many rescuers who risked their lives and the community members who selflessly worked side by side to help those in need.
Artist's Statement
Kreutzer hopes future generations will see the hope and courage of the community reflected in the statue's four bronze figures, which are linking arms - a symbol of the network of support in the community. (from (
