The posted coordinates take you to a large parking area with very clean restrooms (Wildcat Point). This is the South terminus of the East Lakeshore National Recreation Trail.

***NOTE*** TRDA closes this parking area during the Winter months. Basically what that means is the parking lot gate is closed and the bathrooms are closed & winterized. TRDA has given permission to park outside the gate (don't block it) and access the trail. An alternative parking choice would be the Peterson Rd Parking Area at N35.65108213 W084.22245692
The Morganton Branch is a 3.1 mile hike. The first .2 (from this parking area) is uphill but after that it's a relatively easy, flat hike. A variety of interesting and scenic lake views reward the hiker, especially along the Baker Creek arm of Tellico Lake featuring a 140'boardwalk. TVA has built a primitive camping area along this trail.
