As part of an ongoing Community Arts Project utility boxed are being decorated in phases. The first phase was in 2012, second 2013 and third was completed in the fall of 2014.
This 8' high by 6' wide utility box has a beautiful and accurate rendering of a monarch butterfly. The orange, black, and white butterfly decorates the street side and wraps around the sides. The rest of the box is painted with a wraparound pattern of a blue, a green, and a blue bar.
The utility box is not signed or dated. It was not done in the third phase, which concentrated on boxes in the northern part of the city, so it was created in 2012 or 2013.
