The total length of the bridge is 1.2 miles, with 1500 feet between the two towers. The towers are 365 feet high, with the maximum height of the bridge over the water of 185 feet. When constructed, it was the first welded suspension bridge in the USA (all others were riveted.)
The bridge has always been painted green and now has blue LED lights at night that uses a solar powered system.
