Ainsworth Field (originally called Athletic Field) was built in 1913-1914 and has served as the home to numerous minor league baseball teams through the years, including the Erie Cardinals and Erie Orioles (New York-Penn League) and the Erie Sailors (Frontier League). It is located on the corner of West 24th Street and Washington Place and is currently used for high school and amateur league games. Babe Ruth is reported to have played in an exhibition game here in 1923.
