Friedrich Wannieck (1838-1919)
Zakladatel Vankovky Friedrich Wannieck se narodil 18. cervence 1838 v Brne na Kobližné 33/35, jako tretí ze ctyr detí v rodine postrihacesukna Johanna Wanniecka.
Vystudoval brnenskou reálku (1851-55), Vysokou školu technickou ve Vídni (1855-58) a Polytechniku v Karlsruhe (1858-60). Po studiích pracoval dva roky ve Vídni u Ing. Halla na budování válcovny kolejnic v Gratzu pro Jižní dráhu.
V r. 1863 - ve svých 25 letech - podnikl studijní cestu do Anglie (Londýna) a Skotska. Byl zamestnán u Ing. Bramwella ve firme Ordisch-Lefevre a nejvíce se zajímal o železnici a doky.
Po návratu do Brna vedl stavbu výrobní haly textilní firmy A. Löw a H. Schmall. Na této stavbe byly poprvé v Brne po
Dny Friedricha Wanniecka v následujících dvaceti peti letech byly naplneny prací nejenom pro rozvoj jeho továrny. Své schopnosti a energii venoval také odborné a verejne prospešné cinnosti.
V roce 1903 opustil Friedrich Wannieck ve svých 65 letech s celou rodinou Brno natrvalo. Pobýval pak v Mnichove a severní Itálii (v Meranu), do Brna se vracel již jen príležitostne.
Jediný syn Friedrich Oskar mu zemrel ve Vídni 6. cervence 1912 ve veku nedožitých 40 let, manželka Victoria za tri a pul roku nato - 28. ledna 1916.
Friedrich Wannieck se dožil necelých 81 let - zemrel v Meranu dne 21. dubna 1919. Je pohrben na lesním hrbitove v Mnichove - ve meste, kde dosud žijí jeho prímí potomci.

Vankovka Wannieck founder Friedrich was born on July 18, 1838 in Brno on Kobližná 33/35, as the third of four children in the family postrihacesukna Johanna Wannieck.
He graduated from the Brno grammar school (1851-1855), the Technical University of Vienna (1855-1858) and the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe (1858-1860). After graduation he worked two years in Vienna Ing. Halla on building rail rolling mill in Graz on the southern runway.
V r. 1863 - at the age of 25 - undertook a study trip to England (London) and Scotland. He was employed by Ing. Bramwell company Ordisch-Lefevre and most interested in rail and docks.
After returning to Brno, led the construction of a production hall textile company A. and H. Loew Schmall. This building was the first time in Brno after
Friedrich Wannieck days in the next twenty five years have been filled with work, not only for the development of its factories. Their skills and energy also engaged in professional and charitable work.
In 1903, he left Friedrich Wannieck in his 65 years with the whole family Brno permanently. Then he lived in Munich and northern Italy (Merano) to Brno returning only occasionally.
Only son Friedrich Oskar he died in Vienna on 6 July 1912 at the age of 40 years, wife Victoria for three and a half years later - January 28 1916th
Friedrich Wannieck lived for nearly 81 years - died in Merano on 21 April 1919. He is buried at the cemetery in Munich - the city where still living his direct descendants.
