EN: The late-Gothic town hall of Liestal is located at Rathausstrasse in the old town.
The four-story house was built in 1568 and expanded by two arcades in their original style in 1937-39. The Renaissance facade paintings are from 1590 and were replenished 1901. The paintings in the new part are from Otto Plattner from the year 1939.
The hall on the ground floor was once used as a sales outlet for butchers. The council chamber on the first floor was restored in 1885 and contains a precious equipment from the 16th and 17th century.
DE: Das spätgotische Rathaus von Liestal befindet sich an der Rathausstrasse in der Altstadt.
Das vierstöckige Haus wurde 1568 erbaut und 1937 bis 39 im originalen Stil um zwei Arkaden erweitert. Die Renaissance Fassadengemälde stammen von 1590 und wurden 1901 aufgefrischt. Die Gemälde am neuen Teil stammen von Otto Plattner aus dem Jahr 1939.
Die Halle im Erdgeschoss diente früher als Verkaufslokal für Metzger. Der Ratssaal im ersten Stock wurde 1885 wieder hergestellt und beinhaltet eine kostbare Ausstattung aus dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert.
