This bronze statue presents and honors Winfield Scott and his wife Helen who founded the City of Scottsdale. Helen is shown sitting on their US government issued mule, Maude. The statue is located near the entrance to the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall. The statue was created by George Ann Tognoni in 2007. The statue sits on a rust colored concrete slab and has an attendant informational plaque.
