"This pavilion and green space is dedicated to coach Jim White for his years of teaching and coaching the children of McFarland. In his 24 years as a coach, Jim White led the McFarland Cross Country team to 9 state titles, 16 valley championships in divisions 3,4,and 14 top 5 finishes in state. The success and dedication of coach White has resulted in Disney making a movie titled McFarland USA that chronicles the accomplishments of both coach White and the McFarland cross country team. The success of Coach White are the result of he and the McFarland Cross Country Team practicing Coach White's favrite saying of "It's all in the atitude."
