Long Description:
Mt. Sinai Synagogue has never been affiliated with a particular movement – Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform, since the Synagogue was created over a hundred years ago.

The building was dedicated in 1951, and includes a sanctuary seating 450, a small sanctuary for daily prayer to accommodate 30, a social hall for dinners; a full kosher kitchen facility, several classrooms,
and a Rabbi study. An adjoining lot was added for a grassed area for picnics and social events.

The building functions as both a synagogue and as the Jewish community center of Cheyenne. The biggest event of the year for visitors is probably the Yiddish Food Festival held in late May. There are also educational programs for children and adults, and Jewish & Israeli folk dancing classes held every Sunday. Also, every fall the congregation holds a See's Candy (a popular California-based brand) sale for gift-giving occasions.

An important resource is the Mt. Sinai Judaica Library of Jewish books, tapes and periodicals (approximately 1200 books and 100 cassette tapes), which is qualified to be certified as a Judaica Library and would be the only certified Jewish library in Wyoming.
