If you go for a hike near Eggum on Lofoten Islands, you will find the remains of a radar station built by the Germans during World War II.
Here is what is written on the plaque :
" "On Kvalhausen, Eggum, in posotion 68, 18, 30, northern latitude, there is a radar where the electrical aggregates are run by petrol." So is written in an English Intelligence Report in November 1944. The radar insatllation was built by the Germans started in 1944. The installation was very important to the Germans to watch the convoys of Murmansk. Today the place is a popular excursion spot."
