EN: The Fontana Park in the old town of Chur was built in 1727 as a private garden for Peter von Salis-Soglio and belonged to the neighboring baroque manor house "Altes Gebäu", which now houses the Cantonal Court.
The place was redesigned in 1860, but close to the original concept. In 1960, the adjacent square with the monument to the national hero Benedict Fontana was integrated in the park. The original proportions were restored in 2006.
DE: Der Fontanapark in der Altstadt von Chur wurde 1727 als private barocke Gartenanlage von Peter von Salis-Soglio erbaut und gehörte zum benachbarten Herrschaftshaus "Altes Gebäu", das heute das Kantonsgericht beherbergt.
1860 wurde der Platz neu gestaltet, aber die ursprüngliche Konzeption beibehalten. 1960 wurde der Park um den angrenzenden Platz mit dem Denkmal für den Freiheitshelden Benedikt Fontana erweitert. 2006 wurden die ursprünglichen Proportionen wieder hergestellt.
