The Pull-Tight Players have been in existence for about 40 years now. It was started in 1968, by a 16 year old local boy, with the help of his parents, who felt it was time for live thatre in Franklin.
Today, productions are run from the fall until mid-june. with about a half-dozen plays and musicals presented each season.
The name 'Pull-tight' comes from a local term. There was a formerr road in Williamson County that had a steep incline. Farmers driving their crop-loaded wagons had to “pull tight” on their mules’ reins in order to complete the climb up the hill.
The theatre is in a converted former church, the Wiley Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church (1868-1944), located about a block south of the Main Street corridor in Franklin.
