At the 'Blautopf', a huge natural well in Blaubeuren, Germany, Baden-Württemberg exists a statue of the fictional figure of the 'Schöne Lau'. It is known from a German fairy tail written 1853 by the German poet Eduard Mörike.
The Schöne Lau is a mermaid living in the River Blau and the Blautopf. The statue is located nearby to the Blautopf. The mermaid is marriaged with the male marmaid 'Danubius', who's living in the Donau River (Danube) and the Black Sea.
The artist and the year of creation is unknown. The statue is made life-sized and consists of stone.
