The Alhambra Hotel was built in 1894 at a cost of $4,000. It burned and was rebuilt again in 1922. It is located just south of Main Street which for much of Mesa's existence, has also been the route of Highway 60, carrying transcontinental traffic. The current building incorporates portions of the original 1894 building, the 1922 reconstruction and an extension of rooms from 1951. It functions today as a residence hotel.
