On the left hand of the main entrance to the St. Lorenz Kirche, a Gothic church in the center of Nürnberg, Germany, Bayern exists a historical Iron Scale (German: Eiserner Maßstab) which indicates an ancient messurement standard from the 15th century.
The total length of the Iron Scale is 167.04 cm. This is the same as 6 historical 'Nürnberger Werkschuh' (each 27.84 cm).
This was used for the size of graves and for the construction of the church.
